Smart urban furniture for UK streets
Glyt designs solar-powered benches, planters and shelters for high streets, parks and campuses. They light the pavement after dark, charge phones by day and report air quality and footfall, with no cable to the grid.

A day on the street
Drag the timeline or press play. The sun follows its real path over Mildenhall today: the canopy charges by day, the light comes on at dusk and dims after midnight.
The sun's position is calculated for Mildenhall on today's date. Sensor, energy and footfall values are modelled to show how a Glyt Kerb behaves through a day.
Meet Kerb
Glyt Kerb puts solar power, storage, lighting, charging and environmental sensing into a 1.8 m bench. It bolts onto existing paving and never needs a connection to the grid.

In the details

The range
Every Glyt piece shares the same power, sensing and data core, so a bench, a planter and a shelter can report into the same dashboard.

The flagship. Seats three with armrests, lights the pavement, charges phones and senses the street around it.

Seating wrapped around a raised bed. A rainwater reservoir and soil-moisture probes tell grounds teams which beds need water.

A solar roof, an e-paper timetable that stays readable in full sun, warm light at night and USB-C at the leaning rail.
For councils, BIDs and estates
Glyt is designed with highways, parks and town-centre teams in mind: quick to install, hard to break and useful from the first day.
Each unit makes and stores its own power, so there's no application to your DNO, no cable run and no electricity bill. It bolts onto existing paving.
IK10 impact-rated housings, IP66-sealed electronics, anti-graffiti powder coat and tamper-proof fixings.
Radar presence sensing measures how many people pass and how long they stay. No cameras, no audio and no personal data. Data is hosted in the UK under UK GDPR.
Footfall, dwell time and indicative air quality through a dashboard, CSV export or open API, ready to sit alongside your LAQM monitoring and town-centre reports.

From survey to switch-on

We visit each proposed spot, check shading from buildings and trees, and model a full year of sun before anything is made.
A small run of units goes in on existing paving. Your team has the dashboard from the first day.
After a season we go through footfall, air quality, energy and maintenance with you, and you decide what stays.
Units are made to order in your RAL finish and fitted without trenching or a grid connection.
Arrange a pilot
Tell us where. We'll model a year of sun at that exact spot and come back with a layout and a pilot plan.
